I've been a PSO for 2 years now, and I love it!
I can promise you, it is intensely freeing, and very, VERY lucrative!!
However, there are a few variables that have to be addressed.
#1 Like any business, you get out what you put in, so highly motivated PSO's do much better.
#2 The company you work for makes a big impact on your paycheck. Many require you have a dedicated landline, so there is added "overhead" to your business. Many also require that you do a lot of menial side work or talk for hours to clients in a chat room. That greatly takes away from time you can do productive work. Also, some places pay much better than others.
Personally, I spend 1 or 2 days a week with actual "work". Promoting, chatting, advertising. Other than that, I go about my day and wait for my cell phone to ring. But I afforded that privilege because I have had to put a lot of footwork to get to that point.
